A woman whose car was hit by another vehicle on Highway 113 outside of Robbins was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police sources. The unidentified 44-year-old Robbins resident has been involved in a minor accident that left her car facing the wrong way in the southbound lane of Highway 113. The woman attempted to exit her vehicle via the passenger door, since the driver’s door was too badly damaged for her to get out of the car. However, another car attempting to pass struck the passenger side of the car and killed the woman.
Fog had reduced visibility in the area to around 800 feet. Investigators do not believe that drugs or alcohol played any role in the crash.
